Selling watches on marketplaces: packing, labelling and the paperwork

FNSKU labels, carton barcodes, Amazon-ready packing and the documents a freight forwarder asks for — the part of a watch order that decides whether it reaches the shelf.

A watch that is packed beautifully for a boutique can be rejected by a marketplace warehouse in ten minutes. The difference is not the box quality, it is the labelling and the paperwork that travels with it. It is worth agreeing this before production, not after.

The five things a warehouse checks

Have a quantity in mind?

Tell us the model, the colours and the quantity — we come back with the exact MOQ, target price and lead time for your build, within 24 hours on working days.

  • Unit barcode — the FNSKU or your own SKU, scannable, on the outside of the unit pack.
  • Carton barcode — the shipping label the forwarder expects, plus the carton weight and count.
  • Gift wrap or no gift wrap — marketplaces treat these as separate products; the packing has to match what you listed.
  • No mixed SKUs in one carton — unless the marketplace allows it, and most do not.
  • Documents — commercial invoice, packing list, and the certificate copies your market asks for.

Design the pack, then the box

The presentation box protects the watch; the outer carton protects the presentation box. Most damage we see in transit happens because the inner box moves inside the outer one. We fit a foam or cardboard insert so the box cannot shift, and we test a carton drop before we agree a packing method for a repeat order.

Send your marketplace’s packing requirements as a PDF at the quotation stage. It is a five-minute email that saves a re-packing project later.

What we prepare for you

FNSKU labels, marketplace-ready packing, the barcode on the outer carton, and the documents your freight forwarder asks for. We ship courier (DHL / FedEx) for samples and small orders and by sea for bulk, from Guangzhou — the terms are on the services page. Tell us the platform you sell on and send the packing requirements with your inquiry.
